About Us
Everyone’s Welcome
We believe every child should be valued as an individual. By accepting and supporting them for who they are today, we take the essential first step in helping them reach their full potential.
Christian-Based
Curriculum
As a ministry of North Douglas Church, our curriculum is rooted in Christian values that guide both our teaching and our community. While we welcome children from all backgrounds and faiths, we focus on instilling principles of love, kindness, and respect in everything we do. Through a nurturing and supportive environment, we inspire children to grow with strong moral foundations while embracing a sense of belonging and acceptance.
Fully Licensed Non-Profit Childcare Facility
North Douglas Preschool is a fully licensed facility and is regulated by the Vancouver Island Health Authority. It operates as a non-profit entity under the direction of the board of North Douglas Child Care Society.
Holistic Learning Environment
Our holistic approach supports academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth, creating an environment where children feel valued as individuals. Through play and exploration, we guide each child toward their full potential while fostering a love for learning and a sense of community.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you provide meals or snacks for the children?
We ask parents to pack a healthy lunch and snack for their child each day. Please avoid nuts and sugary treats, as we aim to promote a nutritious and allergy-aware environment. We’ll be happy to share tips and ideas if you need help planning meals!
Do you accept part-time students?
Yes! We offer both full-time and part-time enrollment options to accommodate different family needs. Please contact us to learn more about available schedules and space.
Does my child need to be diaper-free to attend?
We encourage children to be diaper-free during the day. However, we understand that occasional use of pull-ups may be needed during transitions. We’re here to support each child at their own pace.
Is there a probation period when a child first starts?
Yes, we have a one-month probation period to ensure a smooth adjustment for both the child and the classroom. During this time, we closely observe how your child is settling in and maintain open communication with you.
Is your preschool program only half-day?
No, we offer both half-day and full-day programs. Families can choose the schedule that best suits their needs. Please contact us for current availability and hours.
Do you accept government child care subsidies?
Yes, we do accept government subsidies. If you’re eligible and planning to apply, we’re happy to help guide you through the process or provide any required documentation.
What kind of food can my child bring to preschool?
We do not have any restrictions so far. If your child has specific dietary needs or restrictions, let us know so we can support them safely.
